Tom Aspinall Calls Out Jon Jones: Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall has had enough of calling out the undisputed champion Jon Jones after the two’s long back-and-forth on social media.
Jones, the UFC Heavyweight Champion, was set to take on Stipe Miocic at UFC 295 in November 2023. But he pulled from the fight due to an elbow injury. In the aftermath, the booking was scrapped altogether.
On short notice, Aspinall stepped in to take on Russian fighter Sergei Pavlovich for the interim heavyweight title. The English fighter then knocked the Russian out in the first round in what was an impressive victory.
Tom Aspinall Calls Out Jon Jones: See Their Back And Forth War
Since becoming the interim champion, Tom Aspinall has been calling Jon Jones out for a title unification bout. But it has now been revealed that Jones will undergo surgery on his elbow and will be out for a long while, meaning this fight is not on the cards for a long time.
Even after Jon gets fit to step back into the Octagon, he is set to defend his title against Stipe Miocic first and foremost.
This is something Tom finds unacceptable, he believes that a title unification fight should be given priority whenever Jones gets back. And because of this, he has been calling out the injured champ on X (formerly Twitter) for days now.

Replying to Aspinall’s incessant callouts, Jon Jones took to X and claimed that the interim champ does not have a deep enough resume to face him, he wrote –
“Only four recognizable opponents, and already the king of England, must be nice. There will be legendary tales told about you and your infamous call outs.”
To this, Tom Aspinall responded –
“Jon you’re letting your ego run wild here mate. I’m not downplaying you’re résumé, it’s incredible. Far superior to mine. You are known as the best fighter ever, and that’s EXACTLY why I want to beat you. Surely you can understand that?”
The two then went on a long back-and-forth, towards the end of which, Jon Jones stated that his fight with Stipe Miocic was booked long before Aspinall was in the conversation, claiming that the Englishman does not have a resume deep enough to challenge for the title anyway.
Aspinall then claimed that he will no longer pester Jones, claiming that the UFC icon has no interest in facing the interim champion.

“Forget all the other stuff about titles and résumé ect. I just think I can beat you in a fight mate, but if you don’t want to, I won’t keep chasing you,” wrote Tom Aspinall.
While a fight between the two is not possible in the future, Tom Aspinall’s callouts have sown the seeds of a big-money fight between the two somewhere down the line.
